Dan Qualls

LEAD PASTOR

Pastor Dan grew up in Wichita, Kansas. It was at age 12 that he knelt and prayed with his Mom, surrendering his life to Christ as His Savior and Lord. After graduating Wichita High School East, he went on to Wichita State University graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology. He then attended Denver Seminary, Denver, CO. graduating in 1976 earning a Master of Arts in Christian Education.

Pastor Dan and Jo were high school sweethearts, they courted through the first three years of college and were married on May 23, 1970. God has blessed the Qualls with two children, daughter, Erin and Son, Ryan who are now grown.

Pastor Dan enjoys cheering for and participating in sports. His favorite to cheer for is, college basketball team, the Kansas Jayhawks. He also roots for the Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs. His favorite day off activity is time with Jo—having dinner or watching a movie. He is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction.

Pastor Dan comes to Bethel from First Assembly of God in Rockford IL. where he was Associate Pastor for 22 years. Before that he served as Lead Pastor at Derby Friends Church, Derby, KS. Other previous positions include Christian Education Pastor in both Akron, OH and Denver, CO and Youth Pastor in Canton OH and Derby KS. He also has hosted his own radio show and has conducted numerous seminars and conferences.

Ron Martinez

YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S PASTOR

Pastor Ron grew up in Moline, IL. As a teen, Pastor Ron prayed with a friend and became a committed follower of Christ. Pastor Ron graduated from Blackhawk College with an Associate degree in 1987. He then went on to Evangel University and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Biblical Studies. He attended Trinity University, graduating in 1994 with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.

Pastor Ron and Jacque met at church as young adults and were married, on May 20, 1989. They have four children, a daughter, Alex and 3 sons, Aaron, Evan and Austin.

Other than spending time with his family, Pastor Ron enjoys playing and watching all sports. His favorite teams to cheer for are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Reds.

After graduating from Trinity University, Pastor Ron returned to the Quad Cities to work as a Family Therapist. He was licensed by the state of Illinios in 1999 and has worked for Minirth Meier Clinic, New Life Clinic and Youth Service Bureau. After many years of serving as a counselor, Pastor Ron felt God leading him in a new direction. He received his minister’s license from the Assemblies of God in 1997. He joined the staff at Bethel full-time as Youth and Children’s Pastor in March of 2005. He still continues to do family counseling part-time at the church and Youth Service Bureau.
