Church Friendly Factor

A recent survey commissioned by Group Publishing reveals, less than 18 percent of Americans say the church is the friendliest place in town. Let’s think about our “Bethel friendliness factor” this Sunday when we encounter visitors in our church. The survey reports, the most important factor that makes a place friendly is “making me feel like I belong.” Subsequent factors include “making me feel comfortable” and “at ease,” conversation, smiles and being non-judgmental. Though generally, we do a good job at welcoming people, this may be a good reminder for us to be a little more friendly. Hey, this may even work nice with the folks who are regular attenders.
