Faith Case: The End Times
Have you seen or heard about the movie 2012? Did you know many people believe this movie will come true and have questions about the end of the world? This is an excerpt from a “end of the world” website;
December 21, 2012..The Bible says that’s the day the world ends. The Mayan Calender (very accurate..) also says that’s the exact day the world will end.. the calender stops at that date. The Egyptians did too. Everything says that the world will end on that date.. I saw a documentary about it on the History Channel.. It was really interesting… What do you think? Will it happen or it’s just another fake?
There are multiple responses posted to this websites question. People are confused, anxious and wondering about the end of the world.
This week in JAM Club the lesson was the “End Times”. We answered these questions with what the bible really says about the end of the world.
FAITH FOCUS
The Bible tells us that the world as we know it will end some day. God has wonderful plans for people who believe in Him.
How will the end times begin?
Before Jesus returned to heaven, He promised to come back to earth (John 14:2,3). While we don’t know when Jesus will return, we do know what will happen when He does. When Jesus returns, all Christians will be caught up to meet Jesus in the sky (1 Thessalonians 4:17). This is called the Rapture. It will be an exciting time because Christians will go to heaven to be with God. Sadly, it will bring a bad time called the Tribulation for those who do not believe in Jesus. Many will suffer and die during this time.
Will Jesus reign on earth again?
After the Tribulation, Jesus will reign on earth for a thousand years. This peaceful time is called the Millennial Reign. The curse of sin will be lifted and things will be wonderful on earth.
How does it all end?
After the Millennial Reign, there will be one final battle between God and Satan. God will defeat Satan forever. Satan will be sent to the lake of fire, and all those who have not believed in Jesus will face final judgment and be separated from God. Those who are Christians will live with God forever.
