Psalmist: “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever . . . Give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds . . . Give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High . . . Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” (Psalm 107:1, 8; 7:17; 100:4).
At this special time of year, we, your pastors would like to share with you our thankfulness. We are thankful to the Lord for His grace, blessings and guidance this past year. We are grateful for each one of you who call Bethel your home; it is a privilege to serve you. We are so thankful for the faithful workers and volunteers who make Bethel’s ministries a success.
We know as you gather around your table this Thanksgiving many will be overwhelmed by the wonderful blessings of this past year, we rejoice with you in all that God has done. As well there will be others who will be experiencing loss or heartache of one kind or another. May we encourage you that God is with you; He loves you and will see you through this difficult time.
We wish you a blessed Thanksgiving Day, know that you are loved. We hope you enjoy your families, turkey, green bean casserole, football, pumpkin pie and Black Friday shopping! Or as one e-mail put it:
May your stuffing be tasty.
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes ‘n gravy have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious.
May your pies take the prize.
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs!!
One more declaration from the Psalmist:
Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles! (Psalm 103:1-5)
