Faith Case: One True God
Some people believe that there is no God at all. Others believe that there are many gods and many ways to heaven. But what do we believe and why?
Is there really a God?
Because we can’t see God, we might doubt if He is real. One of the most obvious ways to know there is a real God is to look at nature. While some believe that creation just happened, is it really possible that no one was in charge when our world was created? The Bible tells us that not only did God create the world, but He created us in His image (Genesis 1:27).
How many true gods are there?
Others believe that God the Creator is just one of many gods who can lead us to heaven. Even long ago when the Bible was written, people believed in other gods. Is it possible to get to heaven by worshipping other gods? No. Isaiah 45:21 says, “There is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me.”
What is our one true God like?
Our God created us, and He knows us completely. Even the hairs on our head are numbered (Matthew 10:30; Luke 12:7). Isn’t that amazing? We are blessed because our God, the Creator of the world, wants to have a relationship with us. Unlike other false gods, our God defeated death to make it possible for us to live in heaven with Him forever. (See John 3:16.) He wants us to choose to believe in Him as the one true God so that we can spend eternity with Him.
